Job Description
Responsibilities: The Saint Louis Zoo is seeking energetic independent friendly responsible and service-oriented applicants for a lead supervisor position in the Satellites area of the Retail Department.
Qualifications: High school diploma required. Candidates must be able to open close and operate all Satellite Retail locations accurately handle cash keep stores merchandised stocked and clean and supervise staff. Candidates must be able to communicate clearly train staff on all Zoo policies and procedures and have the ability to handle guests concerns in a professional manner. Must have weekday weekend evening and holiday availability. Prior retail and customer service experience as well as experience with a cash register required. Prior supervisory experience in a related field is required. Prior merchandising experience is a plus. Candidates must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. Candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and walk from location-to-location various times throughout each day. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. may be required on occasion. Candidates must be able to commit to working at least 1560 and up to 1820 hours per year (30-35 hours per week on average). Candidates may be required to assist in the Retail area of the Zoos Distribution Center in the off-season and at various times throughout the year assisting with merchandise shipments and transfers into and out of the Distribution Center. All successful candidates for this position will be subject to a background check.
