Early Childhood Teacher Assistant
Akiba Yavneh Academy a Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School is seeking a caring and dependable Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to support our Infant and Toddler classrooms. The Assistant Teacher plays a vital role in creating a warm nurturing environment where young children feel safe supported and encouraged to explore. This position is ideal for someone passionate about early learning and eager to grow professionally within a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate routines and activities.
Help maintain a safe clean and organized classroom environment that meets licensing and health standards.
Engage with children through play caregiving routines and meaningful conversation.
Provide attentive responsive care during feeding diapering rest time and transitions.
Foster a calm and respectful atmosphere that reflects the schools values.
Assist in observing and documenting childrens behavior and development.
Communicate positively and professionally with families and team members.
Participate in staff meetings training sessions and school-wide events as required.
Model respectful and compassionate interactions at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA or early childhood coursework preferred.
Experience working with young children in a licensed early childhood setting is a plus.
Willingness to learn from and collaborate with the Lead Teacher and early childhood team.
Reliable flexible and patient demeanor with a strong work ethic.
Ability to lift and care for infants and toddlers and meet the physical demands of the role.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Familiarity with Jewish values and traditions is a plus but not required.
