Supernal provides an inviting open-space workplace designed to foster collaboration which aligns with one of our core values. This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.

What we do:

The Sr. Quality Engineer will collaborate closely with Supplier Quality Design Manufacturing and the Materials & Process teams throughout the product lifecyclefrom concept to production. The position will lead define and execute aircraft-level risk-based Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes to ensure industry-leading Aircraft build quality at production rates. It also supports Supernals type and production certification efforts.

What you can do:

  • Develop aircraft-level quality planning using the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process aligned with Supernals overall program development phases. Lead PFMEA control plan creation MSA studies and process capability studies to establish robust quality control processes
  • Actively participate in design and drawing review process to ensure design robustness and producibility
  • Collaborate with Design Manufacturing and Supplier Quality teams to develop quality control plans for both initial prototype aircraft builds and high-volume production builds. Develop and implement detailed quality control processes and inspection processes to ensure quality integration of LRU and sub-systems into the aircraft
  • Conduct production and build process verifications and validations through FAI and/or process audits
  • Lead production floor control of non-conformance processes and facilitate MRB processes. Ensures nonconformance identified during aircraft build are properly addressed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor production build status closely and drive root cause analysis (RCA) for major design and manufacturing issues using industry best practices such as 8D 5 Whys and Red-X methodologies.
  • Data analysis including baselining and trending for testing and/or metrics
  • Coordinating/implementing MoM/MES and QMS activities
  • Mentor lower-level Quality Engineers
  • Other duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

  • Bachelor Engineering or relevant field required; Master of Science in relevant field preferred
  • At minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in Quality/Operations
  • Working experience with core quality controls processes (APQP PPAP MSA Control Plan FMEA and SPC)
  • Experience with technical data review ANSY 14.1 GD&T and Tolerance analysis. Experience with model-based design is desired
  • Experience with MES ERP and PLM systems
  • Manufacturing background in aircraft or automotive assembly production environments is a plus
  • Experience with a fast pace start up environment is a plus
  • Experience with SAP is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with new product development programs
  • LEAN/Six Sigma experience and qualifications
  • Knowledge of FAA AS9100 AS9102 AS9145 IATF16949 and NADCAP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities; capable of understanding complex technical applications thinking critically and finding solutions in ambiguous situations
  • Proficient in data analysis with experience using statistical software such as Minitab JMP and R
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to independently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite Confluence ERP PLM and MES systems

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills experience job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.

The pay range for this position is:

$125000 - $150000 USD
