Job Description

Lead Radiographer NCT CMA
Fast-paced high-volume clinic is looking for top skilled Radiographer NCT CMA
Work location:2730 SW Wilshire Blvd Burleson TX 76028
Work hours:Full-time 40 hours weekly Monday thru Friday (8:00am - 5:00pm)

Heres What You Need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
  • Completion of approved NCT training program (REQUIRED)
  • Associates Degree Radiologic Technology (PREFERRED)
  • Six monthsRelevant work experience as an NCT (PREFERRED)
  • Four years Medical Assistant experience (REQUIRED)
  • NCT Registered by the Texas Medical Board (REQUIRED)
  • CMA Certified (REQUIRED)
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire (REQUIRED)

Position Responsibilities

Lead:

  • Directs and guides back office staff in monitoring and expediting workflow.
  • Handles medical supply inventory orders and cost control.
  • Trains mentors other Medical Assistants and NCTs.

CMA:

  • Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtains and records vital signs including but not limited to: blood pressure temperature pulse respiration height weight drug allergies and current medications and presenting problem.
  • Administers ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral injection topical rectal ophthalmic and/or inhalant administration.
  • May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as well as perform routine tests such as EKGs.
  • Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing.
  • Documents patient plan(s) of care tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
  • Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician.
  • Prepares cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment disposing of contaminated items according to protocol. Keeps patient exam rooms stocked clean and orderly.
  • Escalates non-routine issues questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s).
  • Ensures safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.
  • Provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.

NCT:

  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures and protects patients self and other staff from radiation hazards.
  • Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.
  • Processes film and checks X-ray for clarity of image retakes when necessary. Distributes X-ray to appropriate medical staff.
  • Implements infection control procedures in the work area.
  • Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis and adjusts and sets radiologic controls.
  • Maintains required records including patient records daily log books and monthly reports.
  • Performs quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws rules and department policies. Cleans maintains and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment including determining equipment repairs.
  • Maintains radiographic supplies film and orders as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
