Job Description
Saint Johns High School Social Studies Teacher - Grades 7-12 Deadline to Apply: Friday July 11 2025 POSITION: Saint Johns High School is seeking a full-time social studies teacher with flexibility for teaching Grades 7-12. The candidate should have a strong background in his/her subject matter (World History United States History and/or Civics) demonstrated pedagogical skills a commitment to and understanding of adolescent boys in the classroom the ability to utilize technology to enhance student learning and the drive to engage in ongoing professional development. The ideal candidate is committed to guiding our students as they construct their understanding of history with an emphasis on core critical thinking skills that a student develops in a social studies discipline. The teacher will be responsible for the implementation of curricula designing assessments that measure student progress and achievement using assessment data to inform instructional practices and participating in collaborative activities. We seek candidates who also view history and social studies classes as opportunities to engage students in the critical moral and ethical questions that arise from the deep study of human interaction. In addition to regular classroom duties the selected candidate should have a desire to contribute to the school community by sharing his/her passions through participating in extracurricular activities such as coaching teams directing clubs or supervising student activities. Minimum QualificationsAn undergraduate degree in History or a related teaching at the middle school or high school level or relevant professional with current discipline-specific to supporting the academic social and emotional well-being of all interpersonal to articulate effectively the values and mission of Saint Johns High School and the Xaverian to Catholic of contemporary educational issues topics and trends especially those impacting boys and young for working with middle and high school to partnering collaboratively with a team of talented to work in a fast-paced in navigating the Google Suite of applications (Gmail Google Drive Google Calendar etc.).Experience with incorporating educational technology into the to including and encouraging all students from all APPLY: Interested candidates should submit the following materials confidentially as separate PDF attachments in one email.
