We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer with specialized expertise in SkySpark to join our team. This role requires a strong technical foundation in building scalable distributed systems and will involve working with building management systems while supporting our production environment across global time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain backend services with a focus on API development and WebSocket implementations that can handle heavy traffic and scale efficiently
- Create and enhance SkySpark Functions Rules and Extensions to support our building management systems
- Develop and deploy microservices in Azure Cloud environments
- Implement message-driven and event-driven architectures
- Support the production environment including incident response and resolution
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle including CI/CD processes
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Java and/or Python for API development and WebSocket implementation
- Minimum 3 years experience with SkySpark including Fantom and Axon programmingfor developing Functions Rules and Extensions
- Experience with Azure Cloud services and microservices architecture
- Demonstrated experience with message-driven and event-driven development using technologies such as MQTT Kafka RabbitMQ or similar systems
- Strong understanding of authentication and authorization protocols including OAuth OIDC and Federated Identity
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and commitment to automation and high-quality software development
- Availability to work in alignment with US West Coast morning hours
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to support production environments and contribute to incident management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Building Management System (BMS) protocols including BACnet Modbus OPC and Niagara
- Knowledge of distributed computing principles and practices
- Experience working in a global team across multiple time zones
- Background in IoT or building automation systems
- Knowledge of Cursor AI Code Editor AngularTS/ and/or any other GenAI / AgenticAI tools is Plus
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques
- Thorough understanding of AngularTS/ and its core principles.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
- Strong knowledge of HTML5 CSS3 SCSS and related libraries/frameworks.
- Proficiency in UI/UX design principles and responsive web design.
- Experience with RESTful APIs integration and JSON.
- Solid understanding of version control systems (such as Git).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Bachelors degree in computer science or Web Development.
