As we look towards bringing our first product to market we are seeking a QC Laboratory Technician to join our team.
Summary
The QC Laboratory Technician plays a key role in Believers commitment to safety and quality. Working alongside quality management and production the technician is responsible for hands-on sampling monitoring and testing to ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting in-process inspections performing laboratory tests and maintaining accurate records while supporting audits and stability studies. The technician will also monitor equipment calibration identify non-conformance issues and collaborate with other departments to drive corrective actions when necessary.

Schedule: This will be a dayshift weekday role during the training and orientation process. Afterwards the technician can expect to work a rotating nightshift schedule including some weekday and some weekend work.

Your Day-to-Day
- Conduct Raw Material and Product Sampling: Collect samples of raw materials in-process materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform In-Process Quality Inspections: Monitor production processes in real-time take initiative to ensure operations meet specified quality control criteria and promptly identify and report any deviations from standard operating procedures.
- Laboratory Testing and Analysis: Conduct routine lab tests to assess product quality including chemical microbiological and physical tests and document results in company systems to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations (e.g. FDA USDA GMP).
- Data Entry and Documentation: Accurately record test results observations and any quality issues in system here ensuring all data is compliant with good documentation practices (GDP) and available for audit purposes and in alignment with HACCP plan.
- Monitor Equipment Calibration and Maintenance: Ensure that all testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained according to manufacturer specifications and company standards to guarantee the reliability of test results.
- Support Quality Audits and Inspections: Assist with internal and external audits preparing required documentation and participating in the inspection process to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct Shelf-Life and Stability Studies: Assist with the preparation and execution of stability testing for both pharmaceutical and food products ensuring proper handling storage conditions and timely data collection.
- Identify and Report Non-Conformance: Identify any product defects deviations or potential risks during production and lab analysis and promptly report findings to senior quality staff or production managers to initiate corrective actions.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 1years of experience with hands-on quality work preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industries. The incumbent QC Laboratory Technician will have a combination of skills education and experience that demonstrate the ability to fulfill all aspects of this job description.
- Bachelors or Associate Degree in appliable field preferred.
- Experience with GxPs (Good Manufacturing Practices Good Documentation Practices Good Laboratory Practices etc.) as related to biotech/ pharma industries (required).
- Additional experience with environmental monitoring in the food production industry (preferred).
- Hands-on experience with cell-counting biochemistry analysis and the use of basic laboratory equipment (pH conductivity meter TOC microscope etc.)
- Knowledge of proper aseptic technique and aseptic gowning.
- Expertise in performing quality audits and having own work audited.
- Must consistently follow all safety and food safety protocols guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This includes properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) identifying and reporting potential hazards and actively participating in safety training and initiatives. A commitment to maintaining a culture of safety and minimizing risks to yourself and your colleagues is essential.

- Mobility: Must be able to walk throughout the entire manufacturing facility and reach up and down to access equipment. Occasional step ladder use may be required for retrieving items and samples.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to use hands to perform precise tasks such as pipetting plating aliquoting and other laboratory activities that require fine motor skills.
- Physical Endurance: Ability to work for extended periods including walking standing and sitting throughout the course of the shift.
- Visual and Auditory Acuity: Good color vision (with or without correction) for tasks such as microscope work and visual inspection of products. Clear auditory acuity for communication and safety in the manufacturing environment.
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasional light lifting may be required (ex: transporting samples or testing equipment from one place to another).
