Description

The Facilities Manager will be expected to support the mantra mission and values of Hawkers Asian Street Food through all that he/she does in their role every day. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the overall repair and maintenance and special project administration for various Hawkers facilities. This position will require travel to support existing facilities NROs and remodels. There will be a focus to provide overall support for our Operations and Culinary teams. The Facilities Manager will work towards accomplishing stated goals and objectives to achieve the desired results while focusing on quality working environments in all our buildings.

Requirements

R&M Projects/Support for Operations

  • Primary contact for restaurant facilities support
  • Analyze preventative maintenance programs and R&M for all restaurants
  • Work directly with our facilities management vendors daily to ensure the restaurants are being supported
  • Maintain and coordinate work orders proposals and invoice approvals through our facilities portal
  • Assist scheduling and dispatching subcontractors when needed
  • Help create and maintain checklists
  • Visit restaurants and provide support when needed
  • Schedule bid and supervise capital projects
  • Assist with after-hours and weekend emergencies
  • Manage certain National Accounts and negotiate local/regional service agreements to reduce rates
  • Review and clarify leases for LLD responsibility work
  • Send large R&M jobs out to bid and handle all quotes
  • Do small pre-approved in-house repairs
  • Establish and maintain relationships with current property managers and LLDs
  • Oversee all maintenance programs to ensure all systems and equipment run efficiently
  • Analyzes repair vs. replacement scenarios
  • Work with operations to perform facilities assessments and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Assist with invoice disputes
  • Provides training to operations for requested systems and items
  • Maintain ADA and life safety requirements across all locations
  • Develop and monitor facilities budgets ensuring all R&M and capital projects stay within allocated financial parameters

New Unit Development/Construction

  • Visit sites and provide support for Construction
  • Assist with special projects
  • Assist with store setup management and punch list execution
  • Interact and coordinate with corporate staff construction professionals and vendors
  • Flexibility and adaptability required when supporting NROs

Support

  • Support Development Department where needed on certain projects
  • Support facility issues at Central Kitchen Hutch Studio HQ and all Hawkers properties
  • Assists resolution of permit/license violation notices sent to restaurants
  • Coordinate any special projects that come up for existing facilities
  • Manage administrative tasks and update facilities specific trackers
  • Assist the leadership team when needed
  • Work with municipalities and health departments to ensure compliance


Requirements

  • College Degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years minimum experience in facilities with focus on multi-unit restaurant group
  • Planning: Ability to think ahead and plan over a 12 year span
  • Management: Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to operate and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of materials methods and the tools involved in the repair of restaurants
  • Ability to travel extensively
  • Some night and weekend work
  • Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency
  • Strong professional verbal and communication skills along with the ability to foster a positive work environment
  • Pride of work and expectation of high standards


Physical Demands

  • Must be able to frequently stand walk give & receive oral communication bend squat and reach above shoulder level
  • Must be able to occasionally sit type and make fine discriminations in sound
  • Must be able to regularly lift/carry up to 75 lbs.; occasionally lift/carry up to 100 lbs
  • Must be able to do repetitive simple grasping fine manipulation and pushing & pulling on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures
