The Arkansas Archeological Survey (AAS) is a unit of the University of Arkansas System. Our mission is to study and protect archeological sites in Arkansas to preserve and manage information and collections from those sites and to communicate what we learn to the people of Arkansas. Cooperative agreements with seven state university campuses two state parks and the UA Systems Winthrop Rockefeller Institute enable scholars at ten research stations around the state to carry out this mission. Minimum Qualifications:
B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Experience with avocationalarcheological citizenscience and/or volunteer organizations
Experience planning events
Experience managing social media and creating digital newsletters
Valid Drivers License and ability to travel including several weeks during the Annual Training Program
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience maintaining databases and WordPress editing
Experience working with Arkansas Archeological Society or similar programs
Planning events for over 50 people
Familiarity with negotiating and executing contracts for organizations
Experience creating schedules and timelines for events
Nonprofit management experience
Archeological field and/or laboratory experience
Knowledge Abilities and Skills (KSAs):
General knowledge of archeological methods practices and stewardship or an interest in learning
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Skill in using social media platforms digitalediting layout publicationsoftware and/or digital newsletter platforms
Ability to work in a collaborative framework with professional staff and external (avocational and general public) stakeholders
