Job Description

Junior R&D Project Leader develops new products product features and technologies and implements these in Thales manufacturing environment.

The main focus in this role is on plastics processing (printing lamination security features etc.) and various special processes related with metallic lamination plates diffractive elements hot stamping lasers adhesives etc.

The main mission is to participate in projects serve as technical resource in his/her own projects or in projects of other Project Managers and as technical support for manufacturing sites new customer product implementation and other R&D teams.

Your responsibilities:

  • Participate in R&D technology development and industrialization projects;
  • Technically support manufacturing sites WW;
  • Technically support know how transfer projects to customers;
  • Lead technical task forces.

Our requirements:

  • We are looking for a polymer/plastics material specialist with engineering background;
  • You should have an Engineering School diploma ideally a master degree and major in polymer applications and processing;
  • You should also have first professional experience in R&D and/or product development and/or industrialization of manufacturing processes in high-tech environments;
  • Experience in project participation would be an asset;
  • You should have experience in plastic processing e.g. in plastic card manufacturing or injection molding context; knowledge in optics would be an advantage;
  • You will need to be able to work in an international team context; what is more you need to be open to travel worldwide up to once a month and exceptionally several week in a row;
  • You will cooperate with various people so you must have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and be able to communicate complex topics;
  • Fluency in English is a must;
  • To succeed you need to be proactive and creative Lean and Six Sigma knowledge will be very helpful;
  • Production is a very dynamic environment so you need to be flexible able to work under pressure and cope with stress effectively;
