The Standards Specialists will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and development of editorial guidelines for the various Research teams producing Risk & Compliance profiles at Dow Jones. This new role will ensure guidelines across the teams are formatted clearly are consistent in their treatment of data accurate and kept up to date. The role will also cover training on how to use and apply the guidelines. Robust guidelines and their application are essential for ensuring data accuracy and consistency for empowering teams to make informed decisions in their research for upholding high research standards and for enabling workflow optimisation through automation and the use of generative AI. The role will focus on guidelines for all content sets including Adverse Media Entities (AME) Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) Sanctions and Other Official Lists Sanctions Control & Ownership (SCO) Special Interest Persons (SIP) State-Owned Companies (SOC).
The Standards Specialists will work extremely closely with key stakeholders in the research teams to ensure guidelines align with requirements and best practices.
Given the critical nature of this work the role will involve close collaboration with Research Directors and Managers the Quality team Client Advisory the Standards team and the Shared Services team.
The Standards Specialist will report to the Standards Director in the Data Strategy team.
You Will:
Develop and lead a cross-team guidelines governance program to ensure ongoing accuracy relevance and effectiveness of research guidelines
Oversee the lifecycle of guidelines including creation review updates and retirement of guidelines aligning with team needs as processes evolve
Collaborate with team Directors and Managers to identify areas for guideline improvement and efficiency
Oversee the creation of effective guidelines for new content sets
Provide guidance and training to research team members on guideline implementation and best practices
Play a key role during the onboarding of new researchers through training on guideline use
Monitor and analyze changes in anti-money laundering regulations and update guidelines accordingly
Contribute to data and workflow improvements and tool efficiencies related to guideline management
Ensure that all operational processes related to guidelines are timely and accurately executed
Contribute to the creation maintenance and testing of guidelines data and tools that will support the team
You Have:
At least three years experience working with Risk & Compliance data preferably with exposure to multiple data sets and teams
Experience of crafting and maintaining clear actionable guidelines for a research team or requirements documentation
Excellent communication skills to convey requirements to various stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaborative discussions among stakeholders with diverse perspectives driving timely consensus and effective decision-making
Experience building and maintaining collaborative working relationships across teams
Good organisational skills
