Job Description
Mobile Health Team Inc. a staffing agency has an opening for a permanent full-time Occupational Therapist. We are looking for someone with a passion for people.
Location: Bethel AK 99559
Assignment Start Date: 10/28/2025
13 weeks Days 8-hour shift 40 Hours with 32 Hours Guaranteed Weekly
Provides full-time quality outpatient and inpatient occupational therapy care. This may include some work at our local long-term care facility. Treats all patient age ranges and diagnoses within the State of Alaskas occupational therapy scope of practice. Includes home visits village travel and frequent collaboration with medical providers and requires strong didactic skills due to Alaskas Direct Access privilege for occupational therapy. Incorporates evidence-based medicine into patient plans of care. Exemplifies professional conduct patient care ethics and respect for cultural diversity when rendering patient care. Modifies patient care plans appropriately using age-specific and patient-specific considerations.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
Experience:
- No minimum clinical experience is required but it is preferred.
- Must have at least 2 years of OT experience
Education:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited program in Occupational Therapy
Licenses Certifications and/or Registration:
- Must be licensed in good standing in Alaska as an OT or have a good-standing license of Occupational Therapy in another state and be awaiting licensure in Alaska.
- Must also hold a current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Current BLS/BCLS is required.
EMR System: Cerner knowledge/experience preferred
Shift: M-F Days
COVID-19: All Travelers are required to show proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations.
Equipment/Tools:
- Office equipment (i.e. computer telephone fax machine copy machine)
- Hospital-based: The Standard Occupational Therapy Department environment includes a hi-lo table therapeutic exercise equipment ultrasound and electric stimulation modalities ADL training room (includes bathroom and kitchen).
- Village-based: Usually a treatment table is provided. The therapist brings out what is needed for patient care (theraband exercise programs etc.).
Housing: Housing provided and airfare reimbursed. Responsibility of the traveler/agency to book travel and submit for reimbursement.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read analyze and interpret occupational therapy periodicals and medical literature.
- Ability to compose patient care documentation and medical correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively with medical staff peers and administrative personnel.
- Ability to communicate effectively with members of a different culture who may or may not speak English.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Periodic self-assessment
