Job Description
- Evaluate and diagnose communication cognitive-linguistic voice and swallowing disorders in adult and geriatric inpatient rehabilitation patients.
- Develop and implement individualized evidence-based treatment plans to address patient-specific needs and goals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions including speech therapy language retraining cognitive therapy and dysphagia management.
- Educate patients families and caregivers on treatment strategies progress and care techniques.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (physical therapists occupational therapists nurses physicians case managers) for coordinated patient care.
- Accurately document assessments treatment plans progress and outcomes in the electronic health record.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning.
- Serve adult and geriatric patients recovering from stroke traumatic brain injury neurological conditions post-surgical complications and complex medical conditions affecting speech or swallowing.
