Job Description
- Provide occupational therapy services to medically complex adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient acute rehabilitation setting.
- Conduct initial patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans addressing physical cognitive and psychosocial needs.
- Deliver direct therapeutic interventions focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs) instrumental ADLs mobility coordination and self-care skills.
- Recommend and train patients in the safe and effective use of adaptive equipment.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members (PT SLP Nursing Physicians) for coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding home exercise programs and discharge planning.
- Accurately document evaluations treatment sessions and progress notes using the Cerner EHR system.
- Maintain patient safety support functional recovery goals and adhere to best practices throughout care.
- Manage a daily caseload of 4 5 patients with a treatment expectation of 6 hours of direct care.
- Treat patients with diagnoses such as traumatic brain injury spinal cord injury and orthopedic trauma.
- Position is per diem day shift with flexible weekend availability and no call or float requirements.
- Must hold a California OT license have at least 2 years of relevant experience and possess strong clinical knowledge in neuro trauma and orthopedic rehab.
