Job Description
Job Title: Senior Manager Federal SAP Financial Systems
Location: Remote
Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizenship required
Position Type: Full-Time Permanent
Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager with deep expertise in federal financial systems and SAP to support a USDA FMMI Help Desk initiative. This role demands a proven leader who can execute and improve complex SAP year-end close processes drive SAP S/4 HANA transformations aligned with federal standards and lead system reconciliation and integrity efforts across financial modules. This is a remote position with the possibility of occasional in-person meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute SAP annual close processes for multiple fiscal years in a U.S. Federal SAP environment.
- Implement and configure SAP S/4 HANA Financial and Accounting changes in alignment with SFFAS 54 requirements.
- Design robust reconciliation frameworks and control mechanisms to ensure financial reporting accuracy and compliance.
- Resolve complex year-end and intra-year system issues diagnosing root causes at both the module and integration levels.
- Recommend and configure solutions related to Funds Management (FM) to support year-end close including handling no-year fund execution and unobligated balances.
- Enhance cross-module reconciliation processes for SAP systems ensuring transactional alignment across FM FI SD AR and AP modules.
- Lead and implement large-scale transformation projects driving system and process changes.
- Develop tools and reports to reconcile SAP modules and monitor data integrity.
Required Qualifications:
Expert-level experience in:
- Executing SAP federal annual close processes
- S/4 HANA configuration for federal financial reporting (SFFAS 54)
- Funds Management configuration and reconciliation
- Diagnosing and resolving complex SAP integration issues
Senior-level experience in:
- Federal financial operations and accounting management
- Applying federal financial standards (FASAB SFFAS)
- Leading complex system transformation initiatives
- Proven track record developing solutions and reports to:
- Reconcile SAP module data
- Monitor data integrity across FM FI SD AR and AP
- Strong understanding of SAP solutions in federal environments (USDA experience preferred)
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Experience:
- Direct experience with USDA financial systems and business processes
- Familiarity with USDAs FMMI operating environment
