You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a Project Manager to lead and coordinate efforts in modernizing the Disease Surveillance System (DSS). This position involves end-to-end project oversight stakeholder coordination compliance tracking and successful delivery of system modernization initiatives within a public health environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead planning execution and delivery of DSS modernization projects
Manage stakeholder communication and coordination across state and local health departments healthcare providers and partner systems
Define project scope milestones deliverables and resource allocation in alignment with strategic goals
Track project progress using Agile methodologies and ensure timely delivery
Oversee requirements gathering and validate deliverables with stakeholders
Coordinate system integrations with platforms such as CDC MPI MCIR Twilio and EDRS (Electronic Death Registration System)
Support and track data migration and user acceptance testing (UAT) processes
Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines and public health data security standards
Identify risks and issues developing mitigation strategies proactively
Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional technical teams and business units
Experience managing public health projects especially in Disease Control or Department of Health and Human Services
Strong understanding of Disease Surveillance Systems (DSS)
Demonstrated project management and team leadership experience in complex IT projects
Familiarity with Medicaid systems such as CHAMPS MI Bridges MCIR CAREWare HMIS and eHARS
Working knowledge of data standards and exchange protocols including HL7 FHIR JSON XML and APIs
Experience with data analytics tools such as Tableau and messaging systems like Kafka
Proficiency in Agile project delivery frameworks (Scrum Kanban)
Strong communication risk management and stakeholder engagement skills
