Job Summary:
This role is for a Sterile Processing Technician responsible for the decontamination sterilization assembly and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies in a Level II Trauma Center. The technician will work a 5x8-hour day shift with rotating weekends and on-call responsibilities. Experience in various surgical specialties is required along with certification.

Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate sterilize assemble and wrap surgical instruments and supplies.
- Manage case carts and ensure proper inventory levels.
- Maintain high standards of sterilization and infection control.
- Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of surgical cases.
- Work in inpatient outpatient and trauma settings.
- Experience with Ortho Urology Endo/Laparoscopic Vascular Thoracic Neuro Gyn Bariatrics Plastics Podiatry ENT Transplant Robotics and Implants surgical cases.
- Participate in a 3-day orientation.
- Handle approximately 65 surgical cases and 1200 tray volume daily.
- Work rotating weekends (possibly twice per month).
- Respond to on-call requests as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
- Certification from CBSPD or IAHCSMM.
- Experience in inpatient outpatient and trauma settings.
- Experience with sterilization decontamination assembly/wrapping case cart management HLD and scrubbing.
- Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties (Ortho Urology Endo/Laparoscopic Vascular Thoracic Neuro Gyn Bariatrics Plastics Podiatry ENT Transplant Robotics and Implants).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with ophthalmology surgical cases.
- Experience utilizing SPM and Epic.
Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities on rotating weekends.
- Three-day orientation required upon hire (8 am-4:30 pm on day 1 6 am-2:30 pm on days 2 & 3).
- No flexibility for block scheduling; case-by-case consideration possible during contract depending on core staff availability.
- Guaranteed 40 hours per contract.
- COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions accepted).
- Three interviews required on three different days prior to submission.
Scheduling:
- 5x8-hour day shift Monday-Friday.
- Rotating weekends (possibly twice per month).
- On-call rotation.
