Job Summary:
This role is for a Nurse Assistant who will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in a critical access hospital. The position requires floating between units on-call availability and weekend work. Responsibilities include assisting patients with activities of daily living collecting patient data and performing basic nursing procedures.
Location: Colville Washington United States
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including ambulation hygiene feeding and toileting.
- Collect patient data such as vital signs weight and I&O.
- Obtain and process specimens (urine stool sputum).
- Perform basic nursing procedures such as incentive spirometry pulse oximetry and blood sugar checks.
- Assist with patient transport and preparation for diagnostic tests.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Answer unit phones and direct calls.
- Perform data entry into electronic medical records.
- Assist in emergency situations.
- Perform post-mortem care.
- Assist with admission and discharge procedures.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to float between units.
- Ability to work weekends and on-call.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Prior experience as a CNA in a hospital setting.
Special Considerations:
- Position requires floating between units.
- On-call is required one time per pay period.
- Weekends are required every other weekend.
- Patient ratios are 10:1.
- Active Washington state CNA license is required.
Scheduling:
- Schedule includes weekends every other weekend.
- On-call is required one time per pay period.
- Block scheduling is not required.
