Job Summary: Location: Anchorage Alaska United States
Responsibilities:
- Preparing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assisting the surgical team during procedures.
- Maintaining a sterile surgical field.
- Monitoring the patients vital signs during surgery.
- Performing post-operative cleaning and sterilization of instruments.
- Assisting with patient positioning and transfer.
- Maintaining accurate records of surgical procedures.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe surgical procedures.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Experience with orthopedic (total joints) robotic (DaVinci) and neurosurgical (craniotomy spinal surgery) procedures.
- Current BLS certification.
- NCCT or NBSTSA certification preferred.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center.
- Experience with a variety of surgical specialties.
Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities are required including weekend on-call.
- No floating to other units within the facility.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
- Time off is approved on an individual basis with a limit of one request per 13-week assignment.
- Guaranteed hours are 60 per two weeks with the possibility of being called off for one 12-hour shift per two weeks.
Scheduling:
- 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.
- Variable days with shifts between 06:45-19:15 or 09:00-21:30.
