Job Description
Senior Accela Developer
Work Location: Seattle WA- Primarily remote. However the client may require occasional on-site presence on short notice and all proposed candidates must be able to accommodate such visits.
Duration: Five-years contract
Project Title: Accela Development & Quality Assurance Testing
Candidates who can work independently are more preferred.
Accela Development:
- Develop and maintain all aspects of the SDOT Accela implementation including but not limited to system configuration scripts expressions standard choices page flows SQL payment adapters integrations and user administration.
- Develop and maintain integrations with various ancillary systems including Bluebeam ESRI ArcGIS.
- Develop reports database views stored procedures in an MSSQL environment.
- Package and deploy scheduled and off-cycle SDOT Accela releases.
- Update and maintain specification documents and inline code commentary.
- Ensure adherence to City of Seattle and SDOT design standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Enhance/configure Accela Civic Platform (modules like Permitting Licensing Inspections)
- Write test and deploy custom scripts (Event Handlers PHP/JavaScript)
- Integrate with other city systems (e.g. GIS ERP)
- Assist in requirements design documents and peer reviews
- Support system optimization and upgrades
Qualifications:
- 5 years experience with Accela (Civic Platform Workflow ACA)
- Strong JavaScript/SQL skills experience with Web Services
- Familiarity with system integrations (XML/JSON/Web APIs)
- Experience in Agile environments
Certifications:
- Accela Certified Developer (if available)
- ISTQB Certified Tester (optional but a plus)
