Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Medical Assistant for a 13-week contract position in its Adult Outpatient Clinic in Spokane WA. This is a locals-only opportunity and may transition to a permanent position based on performance and facility need. Candidates must possess a valid WA MA-C license and have reliable personal transportation. A minimum of 2 years of recent outpatient experience is required. The ideal candidate will be skilled in both clinical tasks and administrative duties within a fast-paced clinic environment.
Room patients and document vitals: blood pressure temperature pulse and respirations
Conduct vision and hearing screenings
Record patient history medications and allergies
Administer TB tests and immunizations
Assist with procedures including nebulizer treatments and injections
Collect and label specimens (urine throat swabs venipuncture)
Perform blood glucose testing via glucometer
Conduct follow-up calls and manage refill requests
Handle basic telephone triage professionally
Support suture removal and pre/post-visit communications
Use EMR (any system; Epic experience preferred)
Must be a local candidate must reside near Spokane WA
WA MA-C license required must be active and in hand at time of submission
Must have reliable personal transportation
RTO (requested time off) must be included with candidate submission
First-time travelers accepted if strong clinically
No weekends or on-call shifts required
May float within scope to similar units as needed
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an adult outpatient or clinical setting required
Proven ability to manage front and back office duties in a fast-paced environment
License:
Washington State MA-C (Medical Assistant Certified) Required
BLS Certification Required
Skills:
Healthcare terminology EMR proficiency (Epic preferred)
Clinical skills: injections immunizations specimen collection vital signs
Communication and customer service
Administrative support: triage pharmacy calls patient follow-up
Team player with flexibility to float within skillset
