Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist PET/CT
Department: Nuc Med Tech/PETCT MH MEDICINE MV
Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule: Day Shift 4x10-Hour (07:00 AM 5:30 PM)
Start Date: 07/29/2025
We are seeking a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment covering both PET/CT and general nuclear medicine scans. This position will float between Mission Viejo and Mission Laguna Beach campuses and requires experience operating GE Philips or Siemens equipment. Candidates must have at least 1 year of recent experience an active CA license and either ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification. First-time travelers welcome!
Responsibilities:CT Advanced Certification is preferred
Epic charting preferred
On-call is optional if requested
Must include RTO at time of submission
Facility may call off once per 2-week pay period
Perform a broad range of diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures including SPECT PET/CT and myocardial scans
Execute radiopharmaceutical preparation dosage and patient administration
Conduct thyroid bone liver renal and ventilation/perfusion (V/Q) scans
Accurately document and review patient data and imaging in Epic (preferred)
Float between Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach campuses as needed
Operate and maintain advanced imaging systems (GE Siemens Philips)
Ensure radiation safety standards and infection control protocols are followed
Support ER portable and critical care procedures when needed
Collaborate with radiologists and clinicians for case review and image interpretation
Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital-based Nuclear Medicine/PET/CT role
Willing to float between Mission Viejo and Mission Laguna Beach
First-time travelers accepted
Must be flexible and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety and compliance
Pending licenses not accepted
Local candidates must be outside 50-mile radius
On-call is not required but can be scheduled if traveler requests it
Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
Minimum of 1 year of recent Nuclear Medicine Tech experience
Experience in PET/CT strongly preferred
Required:
CA Nuclear Medicine license
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ARRT (N) or NMTCB
Preferred:
CT Advanced Certification
Epic charting system proficiency
Bone scans (3-phase whole body)
Liver/spleen scans hemangioma evaluations
Thyroid uptake and I-123 scans
Brain imaging (cerebral blood flow)
Renal imaging (with Lasix/Captopril)
Tumor localization whole body
Sestamibi parathyroid and adrenal imaging
Adenosine & Persantine stress tests
Exercise/rest myocardial perfusion
Pharmacologic stress and SPECT
DTPA aerosol
Perfusion and ventilation studies
PET Scans
ER/portable cases
Parenteral administration
IV placement and contrast prep
