Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Post High School Vocational / Military / Specialized Training as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) preferred.
- 5 years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or military trained Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician.
- Strong personal computer skills including proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Excellent English reading verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to use service manuals and schematics for equipment maintenance and repair.
Nice-to-haves:
- AA degree or Bachelors degree in Clinical/Biomedical Engineering preferred.
- AAMI Certification preferred.
The Biomedical Equipment Technician is responsible for performing safety testing preventive maintenance repairs and pre-acceptance checks on biomedical equipment and systems. This role aims to provide cost-effective maintenance and technical support to ensure the safe and effective use of biomedical equipment in clinical environments. The technician will also monitor and improve the Environment of Care maintain equipment inventory and implement plans to enhance equipment reliability while minimizing risks to patients and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Perform safety testing and preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment.
- Conduct repairs and pre-acceptance checks on biomedical systems.
- Provide technical support for equipment operation and maintenance to clinical staff.
- Develop and maintain biomedical equipment inventory and history records.
- Coordinate equipment service inspections and implement reliability improvement plans.
- Monitor and seek improvements in patient staff and facility safety.
