Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term care facility. The CNA will provide direct patient care assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and collaborate with the nursing team. Previous travel experience is required and the candidate must obtain an Alaska CNA license within 72 hours of contract signing if they do not already possess one. The position offers a variable 4x12 or 3x12 hour shift schedule with guaranteed hours and provided housing and transportation.

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care including assistance with ADLs (bathing dressing toileting ambulation feeding).
- Obtain and record vital signs weights and other patient data.
- Collect and process specimens (urine stool sputum).
- Assist with patient positioning skin care and range of motion exercises.
- Assist in medication administration as directed by a licensed nurse.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Perform basic procedures as directed (e.g. incentive spirometry pulse oximetry).
- Communicate patient status changes to the nursing staff.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phones and documenting patient care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license (or application submitted within 72 hours of contract signing).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care.
- Previous travel experience.
- Valid drivers license and proof of insurance (for use of provided vehicle).

Special Considerations:
- On-call is not required.
- Variable 4x12 or 3x12 hour shifts (travelers choice) primarily day or night shifts (occasional exceptions for urgent needs).
- Facility provides housing (shared unit) and a vehicle for the duration of the assignment.
- Pets are not allowed in the provided housing.
- Guaranteed 60 hours per two weeks with possibility of one 12-hour shift cancellation per two weeks.
- Time off is approved on an individual basis.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
- Candidates permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
- Pending licenses are accepted but the application must be submitted within 72 hours of contract signing.
Scheduling:
- Variable 4x12 or 3x12 hour shifts (travelers choice).
- Primarily day or night shifts dependent on facility needs.
- Shifts are assigned based on facility needs at the time of the start date.
- No rotation between day and night shifts (except for occasional urgent staffing needs).
