Job Description
A pharmacists primary role is to ensure the safe and effective use of medications. They dispense prescriptions counsel patients on proper medication use and collaborate with other healthcare professionals. Pharmacists also monitor patient drug therapies manage pharmacy inventory and adhere to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispensing Medications:Accurately preparing and dispensing medications according to prescriptions and protocols.
- Patient Counseling:Providing guidance to patients on medication usage potential side effects and adherence.
- Medication Therapy Management:Reviewing prescriptions for accuracy potential interactions and appropriateness.
- Inventory Management:Maintaining accurate records of controlled substances and ensuring proper storage and disposal of medications.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals:Working with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize patient treatment plans.
- Health Screenings and Immunizations:Performing health screenings and administering immunizations as permitted.
- Regulatory Compliance:Adhering to all applicable laws and regulations related to pharmacy practice.
- Maintaining Records:Keeping accurate records of prescriptions patient information and inventory.
- Staying Up-to-Date:Keeping current on new medications treatment protocols and relevant regulations.
- Supervising Staff:Overseeing pharmacy technicians and other staff members.
