Job Description:
Quantech Services is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team in Hanover MD. The ideal candidate is a seasoned DevOps professional with proven expertise in Department of Defense cloud infrastructure including Kubernetes container orchestration CI/CD automation AWS Linux systems administration scripting in Bash and Python and a background in big data solutions.
Salary: $160K $180K
Security Clearance Required:
Active Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.
Education / Experience:
-
Bachelors degree in a related field and 9 years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development
OR -
Masters degree in a related field and 7 years of relevant experience
OR -
High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience
Other Required Experience:
-
Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS EC2 EBS S3 Lambda)

Proficient in Linux system administration and troubleshooting
-
Proficient in Terraform and Ansible
-
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL including administration and troubleshooting
-
Experience with application container and OS deployment scaling and management
-
Proficient in programming/scripting languages such as Python Bash or Go
-
Familiar with Git Flux and standard development/deployment tools
-
Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
-
Excellent problem-solving oral and written communication skills
-
Must have a DoD 8140 / 8570 compliant certification (e.g. Security)
-
Must support on-site rotating schedule (during regular business hours) in Hanover or Columbia MD with occasional remote work
-
Flexibility is essential for schedule changes
Preferred Requirements:
-
Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop Spark MongoDB ElasticSearch Hive Drill Impala Trino Presto etc.

Experience with containers EKS Diode CI/CD and Terraform is a plus
Job Duties:
-
Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS especially EKS
-
Support deployment of on-premise and portable Edge infrastructure
-
Automate deployment processes; ensure reliability and scalability
-
Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure
-
Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure
-
Monitor and troubleshoot production systems
-
Continuously improve tools and processes for performance and availability
-
Stay current with industry trends and new technologies
-
Other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
Operates in a professional office environment using standard equipment such as computers phones photocopiers scanners filing cabinets and fax machines.
