Job Description
Role Overview
Citi is seeking a Principal AI/ML Engineer (VP level) to join the Data Concerns Remediation Management Platform team. This role involves designing and building scalable AI/ML solutions contributing to platform architecture driving proof-of-concept initiatives and advising senior leadership. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in machine learning modern software architecture and cloud-native systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build high-quality scalable and reliable AI/ML applications
- Drive the implementation of machine learning models (LLMs NLP Neural Networks etc.) into production systems
- Lead architecture discussions design PoCs and make data-driven technology decisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers quantitative analysts and product owners
- Ensure compliance with Citis SDLC and security protocols
- Operate and optimize systems at scale while continuously innovating
Required Skills & Experience
- 10 years of professional experience in software engineering or data science
- Expert-level proficiency in:
- Languages: Python Java SQL JavaScript () Bash
- AI/ML Techniques: LLMs Neural Networks NLP Reinforcement Learning Decision Trees SVM Ensemble Methods
- RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and Prompt Engineering
- Data Processing: Spark Hadoop Kafka Hive NumPy Pandas Matplotlib
- MLOps Tools: MLflow Weights & Biases (W&B)
- Strong background in distributed systems and scalable architectures
- Solid experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure)
- Working knowledge of RESTful API design and microservices
- Familiarity with modern/functional programming languages (Scala Rust Clojure Elixir)
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership in technical project delivery
- Proven track record in building and maintaining large-scale AI platforms
- Experience in financial services or highly regulated industries
- Strong communication problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
Education
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field (required)
- Masters Degree in Computer Science AI/ML or Data Science (preferred)
