Are you an experienced legal support professional that is looking to take your leadership skills to the next level The Oregon Department of Justice Trial Division is seeking to fill two (2) new Support Services Supervisor 2 positions for the Trial Divisions Salem or Portland legal offices. Training will be in person at our Salem legal office. After training is complete this position offers a hybrid schedule which requires a minimum of 3 days in office and up to 2 days remote work after training is complete. This position will require travel between our Portland and Salem offices.
The two successful candidates will work closely with another Support Services Supervisor 2 to supervise and coordinate the activities of support staff performing a wide range of general support activities. This position provides technical expertise for computer and office equipment needs provides general support for office needs (e.g. liaison for building maintenance supply requisitions etc.) takes an active role in personnel issues (e.g. recruitment training coaching and discipline); and provide occasional administrative support to the Chief Trial Counsel and Deputy. In addition this position also assists the Legal Support Supervisor 2 in matters regarding facilities and administrative issues to ensure the smooth operation of the Trial Division.

Job Duties (in part)
Supervisory Duties: Interview and recommend candidates for hire; orientation of new employees; maintain and update training programs (explain rules policies and procedures); make sure process manuals are updated with current court rules; evaluate staff performance and initiate disciplinary actions; approve leave requests; prepare and maintain position descriptions and training instructions and checklists; resolve work related problems such as workload and scheduling needs by prioritizing making adjustments and perform the work as necessary as well distribute work and review progress of work to ensure deadlines are met.
Administrative Duties: Answer questions and provide information about agency policies and procedures to agency staff and outside parties. Work with court clerks to problem solve issues with filings. Work with dissatisfied individuals to identify problems and offer coaching solutions or answers; coordinate special projects as required by attorneys; participate in test groups for new legal software to help ascertain functionality for our division; assist in developing and revising work procedures and systems for various functions; coordinate designing and revisions of forms used to complete work activities; compile information and prepare reports; recommend purchase of equipment; and oversee the handling of equipment and supplies.
Program Activities: Coordinate projects or other activities with federal state and local agencies courts and other outside entities; monitor federal and state laws regulations and rules as well as federal and state court rules to assure compliance; assist supervisor in developing long and short-range operational goals.
Support Duties: As needed support the Chief Trial Counsel Deputy and LSS2 with administrative and technical needs. Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

One year of experience overseeing technical office or support staff that included responsibility for hiring training and assigning and reviewing work.
AND
Have and maintain a valid drivers license.
Work experienceis based on a 40-hour work week. (Example: 20 hours a week for one year would equal six-months of work experience.)
