We are seeking a highly skilled Hirsch Velocity Technician to work on site in Huntsville AL. This position requires an active secret clearance or the ability to obtain.

Job Summary:

Hirsch access control system integrated with Velocity supporting software for facility access control hosted on Windows Server 2019 physical server Windows Server 2019 virtual domain controller (hosted on physical server) Windows 10 client workstations Cisco network switches main controllers (connected via IP/Ethernet) controllers connected via RS-485 off of main or upstream controllers and badge readers and associated access actuators (i.e. access control points).

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in troubleshooting remote log-in when available and coordination for trouble resolution escalation.
• On-Site Technical Support: Issue escalation requiring on-site support
• Maintenance and support to the control system applications (e.g. Velocity head-end with supporting integrated database internet browsers). This includes patching and upgrading application software and firmware backup of system front-end application/database restoration of system front-end application/database from backup Application upgrades are only required when software is end-of-life (i.e. end of vendor support) or when required to maintain compatibility with the hosting operating system.
• System updates and upgrades shall be limited to only if needed. This includes upgrades/updates to meet end-of-life requirements and to support control system application requirements. Documentation deliverables shall be provided with first annual support activity. Subsequent system support activities shall include associated documentation updates.
• Coordinate with management:
• Plan of Action for Repair
• Estimated Repair Time
• Warranty Status of Equipment
• Recommendation of replacement parts
• Report contractor available loaner parts and delivery/install schedule
• Complete Operational Check - equipment functions as designed and installed
• Clean Connectivity Inspection Usage Inspection (wear and tear) all AV equipment to Manufacturers Specification - racks doors cable cubbys table connectivity rack umbilicals HDMI cables/connections USB cables/connections Cat X cables/connections cameras fans and displays.
• Provide Minor Performance Adjustments - reset all PACS equipment to optimal performance; provide anomalies or identified major repair issues in the room inspection report.
• Provide updated as-built drawings to be included in the inspection report
• Software/Firmware updates and patches as needed
• Replace non-rechargeable batteries as needed

Qualifications:

• Velocity Certified Technician
• Active secret clearance or the ability to obtain

• Able to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; good command of the English language
