Schedule: Full-Time Nights 7:00 PM/7:00 AM 3x12s Rotating weekends/holidays
Salary Range: $135200 - $147680 (Plus 8% Medical Center Differential)
Relocation Assistance: Partial ($1000 - $5000 based on mileage)
Sign-On Bonus: Not offered
Call Requirement: None
Credentialing Timeline: 2-3 months
The Opportunity
If you are an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) with deep roots in cardiology and critical care this position offers a rare chance to join one of the nations most advanced heart failure ICU teams. Our client a nationally ranked academic-affiliated facility is recognized for groundbreaking work in mechanical circulatory support transplant recovery and ECMO.
This role is ideal for experienced acute care NPs or new NPs with prior cardiac ICU RN experience looking to elevate their career into the highest levels of clinical practice.
What Youll Be Doing
You will function as an autonomous APP within a multidisciplinary ICU team that manages:
Advanced heart failure cardiogenic shock and post-op cardiac surgery
LVAD VV/VA ECMO mechanical circulatory support (MCS) and transplant patients
Daily rounds care planning procedures (where credentialed) and family communication
Interpretation of diagnostics ordering appropriate tests and therapies
Close collaboration with cardiologists intensivists surgeons perfusionists and nurses
This is not a general ICU role it requires a strong foundation in high-acuity cardiac and transplant care.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)
AGACNP certification required Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) will not be considered
Current Texas RN and APRN licensure (or eligible)
Board Certification: ANCC AANP or AACN in Acute Care
BLS & ACLS Must be active and valid
Minimum 2 years clinical experience as either an RN or NP in:
Heart failure cardiac critical care CV recovery cardiology or transplant
New grad NPs must have 2-3 years prior RN experience in an ICU setting specifically:
CVICU CTICU heart transplant LVAD/ECMO unit or cardiac step-down
Nice-To-Have Experience
Direct experience with:
Heart failure patient population
Cardiovascular surgery recovery
Mechanical circulatory support ECMO LVAD transplant ICU care
Previous Acute Care NP experience in ICU step-down or intermediate cardiac units
