Deputy Attorneys General with critical support from criminal special investigators victim service specialists paraprofessionals and administrative staff prosecute criminal cases enforce consumer laws provide counsel to state agencies ensure the publics access to open government protect the abused and much more.
The Delaware Department ofJustice seeks a Case Processor (Administrative Specialist I Merit Comp) toprovide administrative support to the Felony Screening Unit Criminal Divisionin New Castle County.
The duties associated with the Case Processor positioninclude but are not limited to preparing charging documents preparingrestitution letters and other documents for filing with the various courtsaccessing and printing documents as needed from both CJIS and JIC filingmanaging several calendars pulling files associated with those calendars andclosing of preliminary hearing and plea files in the case tracking and CJISsystems as well as maintenance of the records of those closings. The positionassists with transferring files to trial units and tracking those position is also required to rotate with the other administrative staff inthe Felony Screening Unit at the intake scheduling desk. Other members of theCase Processing group will also require some assistance from time to timeincluding closing files preparing charging documents and assisting theSupervisor of the CPU. The position requires interaction with the Courtsand law enforcement including but not limited to scheduling intakes andcoordinating the bail reduction and video bail calendars.
Applicants must haveeducation training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of thefollowing areas:
experience in coordinating office activities such asplanning/coordinating meetings or conferences; tracking workflow and follow up;composing meeting notes; directing clients/customers; explaining services tothe public and customers/clients; establishing or maintaining filing/recordsystems.
experience in document processing which includes reviewing andevaluating records for completeness and conformity with laws rulesregulations standards policies and procedures resolve deficienciesinterpret information and track and monitor activities.
experience in using standard computer software programs for wordprocessing spreadsheets or databases.
experience in using an automated information system to enter updatemodify delete retrieve/inquire and report on data.
