Food Warehouse Coordinator Serves with the responsibility of scheduling and managing Manna Ministry reservations maintaining records ensuring USDA and Feeding Southwest Virginia compliance coordinating volunteers and assisting in food intake distribution and stock management while upholding cleanliness and organization.
Hours of Availability:
Full-Time with typical schedule Monday Friday 8a 5p
Compensation: $15.45/hour (non-exempt)

Job Specific Qualifications:
- Experience in administrative support scheduling or customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate external stakeholder relationships.
- Experience working with volunteers or in a nonprofit setting.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and inventory management preferred.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle and meet driver qualifications.
- Ability to perform physical activity for prolonged periods.
- Ability to speak Spanish; Preferred but not required
Career Summary:
Serves to assist individuals receiving food services. Communicate effectively to participants volunteers and community partners. Schedule and manage all reservations for Manna Ministry (Food Bank Distribution). Administrative tasks include proficient computer skills to document records and process applications among other tasks. Assist with food distribution on designated days. Ensure freezers and coolers remain clean and organized. Assist with donation pickups as needed.
Collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator and other departments to find help when volunteers are unavailable.
Maintain cleanliness of the office area sweep the warehouse daily and assist in keeping the bathroom clean. Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Maintain a safe working environment by following food safety and warehouse safety protocols.
All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the leadership/management. Expectation is to complete these assignments as requested.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of standing stooping twisting turning pushing pulling and lifting.
- Frequent use of the computer with extensive screen exposure.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively (team lift as appropriate).
- Exposure to varying temperatures including refrigerated storage areas.
- Noise levels may vary based on activity and location.
- Frequent movement is required to complete tasks.

Since 1948 the Rescue Mission has continued a tradition of comprehensive care to those in crisis in our community. The homeless the hungry the chemically addicted the impoverished and the hopeless have all found a warm welcome at the Rescue Mission.
Men women and children have found a safe place and compassionate friends in their darkest moments. The Rescue Mission is open 24 hours/day and 365 days/year and provides food clothing shelter an on-site clinic Recovery Program case management and aftercare services. All people in crisis are served regardless of race gender creed age or ethnicity.
In addition the Rescue Mission operates a Donation and Recycling Center 2ndHelpings Gallery and Shop Thrift 460 and has an online store presence. All proceeds from sales benefit the programs of the Rescue Mission.
