We are searching for anEmployee Engagement Specialist to join our Human Resources Team based in Halifax Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity

  • Using HR metrics survey and workforce data collaborates with both HR and organizational leaders to determine the most meaningful and effective ways to improve employee engagement and organizational culture
  • Oversees employee engagement initiatives including surveys feedback systems and recognition programs; evaluating effectiveness while making recommendations
  • Promotes diversity and inclusion initiatives within engagement programs to ensure all employees feel valued and supported
  • Leverages engagement systems and HR knowledge to gather insight and make recommendations
  • Supports the planning organization and execution of Celebrations including Years of Service Great People Month and the Annual Excellence Awards ensuring recognition and gifts are administered accurately effectively and efficiently
  • Coordinates and directs groups of volunteers to support the delivery of Employee Engagement activities and celebrations
  • Administers monitors and evaluates Moments (Achievers) software and makes recommendations for improvements based on usage data and HR metrics (such as retention employee engagement)
  • Provides training and support to managers on how to utilize and leverage Moments (Achieves) software
  • Stays informed of industry best practices and compares engagement levels against benchmarks to ensure competitive employee satisfaction
  • Creates continuous organization wide feedback loops to ensure employees voices are heard and actions are taken based on their input (ie focus groups)

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement collaboration and accountability you bring:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Organizational Psychology Organizational Development Business Administration or related field
  • 3- 5 years of experience working in human resources employee engagement or communications and marketing
  • Experience with project management and/or event planning
  • Experience using engagement software such as Achievers and Emprising (Great Place to Work) considered an asset
  • Certified Employee Engagement Specialist (CEES) considered an asset
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations services and care.
