Title: Special Education Teacher Consultant - Deaf and Hard of Hearing Total Communications Program
Classification: KIEA
Reports to and Evaluated by: Administer of Total Communication
Terms of Employment: 182 Day Position - subject to all rules and regulations covering KIEA Teachers

BROAD STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Teacher Consultant for Students Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing is responsible for supporting the academic social-emotional and communication needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) across a range of educational settings. This role involves collaboration with general and special education staff families and related service providers to ensure appropriate access to curriculum classroom instruction and school activities. The consultant provides expertise in hearing loss instructional strategies and accommodations to promote educational equity and student success. The teacher will work collaboratively with district teams to provide specially designed instruction in the areas determined by each students Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Salary:Per KIEA Master Agreement/ Commensurate with education and experience (BA Step 1-5 $51106-$61927/year; BA18 Step 1-5 $54644-$64531/year; MA Step 1-5 $57766-68695/year; MA15 Step 1-5 $60370-$71821/year; MAMAMA30 Step 1-5 $62972-$74423/year).
