The Nurse Technician Plus 3 - Phlebotomy II at the Alamance Regional Medical Center supports the Registered Nurse through observing and documenting patient conditions. Working under close supervision this role assists with patient support through progressive mobility and assistance with daily tasks as needed. This role requires collecting high quality blood specimens with a low contamination rate.
Responsibilities
Supports patients with daily living tasks including meals personal care and progressive mobility in order to support the recovery and plan of care. Assesses patients quality of life related to nutrition hydration and elimination in order to distribute resources and anticipate patient needs. Admits transfers and discharges patients in order to move them to the appropriate locations in line with the plan of care. Assists with patient elimination needs including ostomy care enemas and condom catheters to provide comfortable care for patients. Helps to maintain unit inventories of supplies and equipment in order to ensure a clean and safe environment in adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals. Checks that fall risk patients have the appropriate arm bands socks and signage to ensure physical safety. Collects high quality blood specimens in line with Infection Control guidelines in order to deliver medical information and influence care. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 1 year of related experience
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Currently listed and in good standing as a Nurse Aide I with the North Carolina Division of Facilities Services; Phlebotomy licensure from one of the three agencies required after 18 months of employment at Cone Health as a phlebotomist. ASCP ASPT or NHA Preferred: Phlebotomy licensure eligible upon hire.
