AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Rip Sawyer on 2nd. Shift to be located in West Plains MO. This position operates electrically powered machines equipped with one or more circular saw blades to rip boards along grain.
JOB DUTIES:
- Perform visual inspection of boards on moving supply conveyor to assess position of laser rip guides.
- Use foot control pedal to flip boards on conveyor to correctly position crooked lumber for feeding into saw.
- Move or adjust laser rip guides when necessary to obtain optimum yield from ripped boards by using the selector dial or push-button controls.
- Control supply flow of boards into the rip saw using the push-button controls.
- Verify accuracy of saw settings and dimensions of lumber stock.
- Ensure enough lumber is fed into the machine to maintain production pace.
- Replace saw blades and lubricate machine.
- Perform minor repairs adjustments and preventative maintenance measures.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Follow Job Safety Analysis guidelines to assure safe operations.
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interrupt bar graphs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly push pull carry and lift 5 - 50lbs.
- Frequently walking standing stretching bending stooping crawling kneeling crouching twisting reaching grasping and repetitive movements.
- Continual specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Continually must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Continually work near moving mechanical parts.
- Continually must be able to work in moderate noise up to 83 decibels.
- Continual exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals fumes and airborne particles.
- Frequently climbs stairs to/from workstations.
