(0.5 FTE) Special Educator / (0.5 FTE) Intensive Paraeducator needed
Location: Charlottle Central School
Charlotte Central School has an opening for an innovative collaborative and energetic professional to join our special education team. We are seeking an individual to fill a dual role: a .5 FTE Special Educator and a .5 FTE Intensive Paraeducator.
As a
Special Educator (0.5 FTE) we are looking for a professional with demonstrated leadership organization and problem-solving skills who shares our passion for inclusive education. The ideal candidate will have experience working on collaborative teams including working closely with classroom teachers to co-design instruction. Candidates should indicate in their cover letter any specific expertise or experience they bring to their work including (but not limited to): literacy or math expertise coteaching low-incidence disabilities/intensive needs and working with learners who have social/emotional/behavioral challenges. A Masters degree or equivalent in Special Education plus relevant experience in providing special education services is preferred but candidates with different backgrounds who may be eligible for licensure are encouraged to apply.
As an
Intensive Paraeducator (0.5 FTE) you will provide intensive support in the areas of multi-layered curriculum or curriculum overlapping communication behavior and activities of daily living across school settings to students in our Pre-K to 8th grade school. Candidates will be an advocate of inclusive education problem-solvers and strong collaborators and positive team members. The ability to promote child growth and foster independence and a willingness to learn are essential.
Compensation for this combined role will reflect the responsibilities being performed at any given time as there are two distinct pay structures:
Special Educator Rate: The pro-rated annual salary range for the .5 FTE Special Educator portion is $52622.00 to $107722.00.
Intensive Paraeducator Rate: The pro-rated hourly rate range for the .5 FTE Intensive Paraeducator portion is $24.12 to $26.03.
