Custodian

Army and Navy Academy a private boarding school committed to providing a safe clean and welcoming environment for students staff and visitors is seeking a dedicated Custodian(s) to join our facilities team. The Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across all areas of the campus including classrooms restroom offices dormitory common areas and public spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping mopping vacuuming dusting and trash removal throughout all campus buildings.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms including toilets sinks mirrors counter floors and walls.
• Wipe down and disinfect all surfaces includingincluding desks countertops door handles and high-touch areas.
• Refill paper products and hygiene supplies (toilet paper paper towels soap etc.) as needed.
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.
• assist with set-up breakdown and clean-up of special school events meetings and gatherings.
• Respond to emergency cleaning situations such as bodily fluids spills or weather-related messes following safety and sanitation protocols.
• Secure all cleaning equipment and materials at the end of each shift.
• Follow all school safety policies and procedures and report maintenance or safety issues promptly.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience related to the above tasks knowledge skills and abilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• School custodial experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

Heavy work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing climbing crouching grasping handling hearing kneeling lifting mental acuity pulling pushing reaching repetitive motion speaking standing stooping talking visual acuity and walking.
