Behavioral Health Therapist III

Inovas Peterson Life with Cancer program Family Center in Fairfax is looking for a Spanish Speaking Behavioral Health Therapist III to join the team.This individual will provide individual and group support to Spanish speaking patients and families impacted by cancer as well as the broader oncology role will be full-time day shift from Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m.

Behavioral Health Therapist III Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides care coordination to assure that the patient and family receive and are subsequently referred to appropriate healthcare and community resources to optimize treatment/intervention outcomes. When indicated by role participates in patient and community psychoeducational programs and facilitates support groups for specified disease processes related to mental health substance use disorders medical diagnosis and chronic or life limited illnesses while assisting with community outreach as needed.
  • Provides documentation and performs administrative functions appropriate to clinical role. Provides a range of therapeutic interventions psycho-educational programming and behavioral interventions (when indicated) to assist the patient/family in achieving the goals and objectives of the individualized service plan.
  • Provides care management to ensure the patient and family receive and are subsequently referred to appropriate healthcare and community resources to optimize treatment/intervention outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:Masters Degree Ph.D. PsyD EdD in Mental Health Social Work Counseling Substance Use Disorders or Behavioral Health related field.
  • Experience: Three years of experience post licensure in mental health/substance use disorder treatment psychoeducational programming including targeted evidence based interventions (crisis intervention trauma and integrative therapies).
  • Certification:Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association within 3 months of hire. Crisis Prevention Institute within 6 months of hire.
  • Licensure: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist LMFT) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Spanish speaking
