The Selection Contribution Platform team (SCP) owns the global systems that deliver a key part of that vision we build the systems that allow Amazon carry the largest highest quality and most up to date selection in the world.

As a member of the SCP you will play a key role in building Amazons business across the world. You will solve technical challenges in web-scale computing distributed systems web applications data mining machine learning optimization scalability availability and algorithms to name a few. Working with business teams to translate their needs into technical requirements you will build systems that meet challenging business and technical goals with Amazon efficiency so we can deliver great pricing to our customers. You will directly interact with Amazons Development teams across the globe to design and deliver the best solutions to grow Amazon in being earths most customer centric company!

Opportunity
To meet these challenges we are looking for a passionate talented and super-smart Technical Program Manager who loves to work across (a) product management (b) project management and (c) software development! Were looking for someone who innovates loves solving hard problems and never takes no for an answer. With a broad technology and management toolbox you are able to develop the team and guide their technical implementations. Your success will depend on your skills in understanding the big picture of Amazons business and delivering incremental solutions contributing to the larger vision. As a TPM you will be defining the product vision and roadmap in a data-driven and working backward (from customer) approach. You also need to be comfortable to work with tons of ambiguities learn and iterate to crack hard problems. You will also take the roadmap forward into incremental implementation phases bring teams across organizations together anticipate bottlenecks provide escalation management anticipate and make tradeoffs and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. #techleader

Key Responsibilities
- Thinking big and working with Senior leadership business stakeholders and engineering teams to define vision strategy and requirements.
- Delivering results by driving execution of programs spanning multiple organizations from design to rollout.
- Earning trust through regular communication with senior management on status risks and change control.
- Owning all metrics around initiative goals you will define. We make decisions based on data.
- Being resourceful and creative to overcome obstacles and turn challenges into opportunities.

- Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams
- Experience managing cross-functional programs and release schedules
- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
- Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
- Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience working directly with engineering teams
- Experience in system design

- Experience in project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management
- Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
