UCT is looking for a talented Designer to join us in Hayward CA!
Responsible for developing detailed 3D models and technical drawings illustrating assembly methods for various thermal and mechanical devices as well as conducting thermal validation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct thermal validation testing on prototype products using a variety of test equipment to accurately record temperature data.
- Support engineering teams with research and development (R&D) assembly projects.
- Collaborate with production and engineering leads on new customer product builds ensuring documentation specifications and BOMs are clearly understood and accurately followed. Responsible for communicating any issues or required changes to engineering to support successful build completion.
- Uses the Agile system in reproducing engineering/manufacturing documentation such drawings and bills of materials parts lists specifications and engineering change orders.
- Ensures that documentation projects meet established quality standards and deadlines.
- Coordinates with engineering production and other departments in providing design support services.
- Creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches layouts or notes provided by engineering.
- Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Check drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards and ECO/ECR documentation.
- Prepare proper documentation required by customer to release new parts drawing and specs via ECO.
- Generate customer Bill of Materials. Release and Implements customer ECO.
- Creates specification and other requirements to Release Build to Print documentation.
- Provides various design and documentation to support Engineering and Document Control.
- Receives predetermined work assignments from Engineering Services Manager that are subject to a moderate level of control and review.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Mechanically capable with a clear understanding of standard hand tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of CAD software AutoCAD Inventor Inventor Vault or Solid Works.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering Operations and other groups to ensure that site delivery and quality issues are met.
- Working knowledge of MS office Suite and database software.
- Working knowledge of Agile and SAP Helpful.
- Working knowledge of quick-turn engineer-to-order environment.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
- Degree in Mechanical Design Drafting or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Work Experience:
- 5 years experience as a designer/drafter preferably in semiconductor capital equipment industry or related industry experience.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $60300.00 and $96600.00/year; however base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location job-related knowledge skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements includingvariable pay and discretionary awardsin addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as PTO (Paid Time Off) and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired employee will be in an at-will position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
