What Youll Do:
We are seeking an Executive Director Business Development and Strategy to support our existing global alliances strategic planning and potential new partners. This individual will be responsible for supporting business development efforts and helping support existing and select new strategic alliances. This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
You will be responsible for:
Alliance Management (40%)
Manage the ongoing business relationship with assigned commercial alliance partners.
Provide a single point-of-contact for partners and a pathway for business/contractual issue resolution or other business-related matters.
Participate in and ensure effective joint governance meetings.
Must be hands-on and able to create your own content (slides) and meeting materials (agendas) plus handle all the follow up work and pull through.
Proactively track monitor and communicate contract milestones obligations and any financial payments to ADC Therapeutics stakeholders.
Obtain collaborator feedback on the general state of progress and effectiveness of the collaboration; help to identify facilitate and generally steward changes and to maintain highly effective collaborations.
Enter all key contract information into departmental systems and databases for proactive and efficient tracking of ADC Therapeutics and collaborator obligations.
Collaborate with commercial and supply leaders for each partnership.
Work with project teams ADC Therapeutics stakeholders and alliance partners towards alliance success. Evaluate and resolve any business/contractual issues in an equitable and timely manner helping to ensure the overall value and success of each project and that the spirit of each collaboration agreement is kept intact.
Business Development (30%)
Assist in identification of potential partners (large pharma and biotech) for our in-licensing and expansion of our commercial plans.
Maintenance of up-to-date background on companies of specific interest.
Develop competitive landscape assessments for external in-licensing opportunities and work with leadership to define scope of external scouting and criteria for in-licensing opportunities.
Leading specific partnering initiatives in respect of individual programs; managing information exchange and due diligence.
Assist in the development of business cases and licensing and partnering terms and conditions; negotiation of licensing and partnering agreements and other relevant deal support as required.
Must be able to create your own materials (slides agendas tracking system etc.).
Business Strategy (30%)
Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives including search and evaluate new assets business model evaluation and organizational transformation.
Prepare quarterly annual and/or ad-hoc high-quality presentations reports and dashboards to communicate insights recommendations and performance metrics to our Board of Directors Executive Management Investors and Business Partners.
Support the annual planning process and target setting to cross-functionally align to the corporate goals.
Support business cases for strategic investments. Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis both externally and internally to inform structured recommendations.
Partner with cross-functional Executive and Extended Leadership Teams (Clinical Commercial Technical Operations and others) to ensure alignment of strategic priorities.
Conduct market industry and competitive analysis to identify opportunities threats and trends. Keep abreast of changes in the industry and field.
Domestic and International travel as needed
Who You Are:
Required:
12 years pharma/biopharmaceutical industry experience including in Alliance Management Business Development and/or Business Strategy ideally in oncology
Strong scientific background required
Preferred:
Experience working in a consulting organization focused on life sciences consulting (i.e. experience consulting for biotech and pharma)
The ideal candidate would have experience and/or exposure to clinical development regulatory affairs and technical operations of a pharmaceutical company; ideally experienced in Oncology and/or Hematology
Understanding of Antibody Drug Conjugates specifically understanding of targeting modalities in oncology is a plus
First-hand knowledge of biotech/pharma industry outside the United States is highly desired with attendant language skills advantageous.
Proficient with a wide range of data/information: scientific/clinical legal/regulatory business financial and market analytics.
Mindset and ability to work both at the strategic and operational level; comfortable at being hands on.
Proven ability to operate independently with little to no day-to-day direct supervision of work. Experience leading departmental planning processes including development and implementation of such plans goals and metrics.
Strong interpersonal skills. Capacity to work cross-functionally and to influence people without direct authority.
EDUCATION
Bachelors Degree (Business Finance or Life Sciences discipline)
MBA or PhD in Life Sciences is a plus
