Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Transportation Supervisor the Patient Transporter transports eligible patients to Sonoma County Indian Health Project Inc. (SCIHP) and outside agencies for services using fleet GSA vehicles. Transportation will be for routine and non-emergency services.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  2. Must have valid drivers license and be able to meet the minimum insurance requirements regarding driver record in order to utilize GSA vehicles.
  3. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
  4. Must be able to support the weight of others who require assistance in standing bending stepping walking and/or sitting.
  5. Driver cannot smoke cigarettes/cigars while transporting clients or operating GSA vehicles.
  6. Maintain client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  7. Must be courteous punctual and able to navigate by road maps.
  8. Possess current CPR certification.
  9. Must provide a DMV printout at the time of submission of application.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results and duties as needed.
  2. Organize work set priorities meet critical deadlines and follow up on assignments;
  3. Assists in scheduling time off while ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained.
  4. Compose correspondence independently or from brief instructions;
  5. Organize and maintain office files and records including those of a confidential nature.
  6. Make arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy;
  7. Adhere to standards policies and procedures of SCIHP and follow safety guidelines for self patient and other employees including Universal Precautions and hazardous material guidelines including but not limited to Federal State OSHA and CDC;
  8. Apply effective verbal and listening communication skills;
  9. Demonstrate proper phone and cellular phone handling;
  10. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of medical professional administrative and support personnel contacted in the course of work.
  11. All employees must be sensitive to the needs of the Native American Community demonstrate a deep understanding and respect for the diverse cultural heritage traditions and historical context of the Native American Community.
