Job Description

SUMMARY

Supervise all health/wellness related activities; educate child/adult members on how physical activity can promote both physical and mental health wellness; teach members how to exercise properly and safely to achieve wellness goals.

DUTIES

  • Promote a trauma informed gym environment
  • Conduct fitness evaluation and orientation
  • Develop individualized fitness plan based on fitness evaluation
  • Maintain gym and equipment cleanliness
  • Ensure equipment in safe working order
  • Train members on proper use of equipment
  • Train members on proper form/technique
  • Provide fitness training monitoring and on-going assessment of wellness goals
  • Complete daily progress notes in EHR for each member
  • Works collaboratively with members and treatment teams for coordination of care
  • Educate members on how physical activity impacts emotional well-being in addition to physical well-being
  • Develop and incorporate other wellness activities such as team sports/wellness outings
  • Train identified staff as weight room attendant (proper use of equipment/form/safety)
  • Participate in weekly staffing


REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma associate and or bachelors agree in health science / psychology 4 years experience
  • Level I fingerprint clearance or ability to obtain
  • CPR certification
  • CPI certification
  • A genuine passion for fitness and helping others achieve their goals
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and how the body responds to exercise
  • Knowledge of different training methods including strength training cardio and flexibility exercises
  • Understanding basic nutrition principles and how to create meal plans to support fitness goals
  • The ability to clearly explain exercises provide constructive feedback and build rapport
  • Experience in operating fitness/gym equipment
  • Ability to develop individualized training plans based on members unique needs
  • Paying attention to client needs and concerns and responding appropriately
  • Ability to adjust training programs and communication styles to meet the unique needs
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor and ethical standards
