This position will work as an Orthopedic provider on-site during weekday hours for the Childrens Mercy Orthopedic Injury Clinic located near Liberty MO
The Orthopedic Injury Clinic provides rapid convenient access for children and adolescents with minor musculoskeletal injuries. The Orthopedic Injury Clinic Physician Assistant performs a problem-specific health assessment with a major focus on injuries such as fractures muscle and ligament sprains/strains minor dislocations and sports-related injuries. Treatment pathways employed in this role include casting splinting bracing and referral to rehabilitative services as well as follow-up care for the injury as needed. This Physician Assistant will be expected to work collaboratively with the Orthopedic physician providers when consultation is needed including surgical referral.
Physician Assistants II (PA-II) provide proficient comprehensive health care services to a defined patient population; obtaining the health history; performing a physical examination diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; formulating and implementing a plan of care; and participating in patient and family education. Each PA II demonstrates commitment to professional leadership and provides leadership for quality & outcomes improvement activities clinical research or evidence based practice and organizational development.
