Summary of Job Duties:
An Associate Phlebotomist in an outpatient clinic plays a vital role in patient care by performing blood draws and other specimen collections in a fast-paced patient-focused setting. They are responsible for managing specimen accuracy data entry and maintaining high standards of patient identification and safety.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School GED or formal education equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year experience working in a clinical laboratory or as a medical assistant
- CPR CAN PBT MLA or CPT Certification

Requirements:
This position will use correct blood collection tubes ordering correct test from requisitions.
Match identifiers to information on requisition and labels.
Obtain blood from patient using proper phlebotomy techniques for clinical or medical testing transfusions donation or research.
Resolve specimen and patient problems as they arise.
Follows all UAMS Department of Pathology Policies and Procedures for blood collection.
Obtains patient specimens at an acceptable rate.
Performs other duties as well.
