GE Vernovas Electrification Softwares largest Grid Software Global Delivery Center is based in Bucharest. It allows us to bring a significant contribution to the Worldwide Electrical Energy context. We deliver mission-critical solutions that drive the energy transition focusing on Energy Transmission Distribution Asset Management and Market Management to shape the current and future energy environment.What You Would Work On:
Our teams support software solutions for R&D services and support for Electrification Softwares products while liaising with stakeholders and customers all around the globe.
At GE Vernovas Electrification Software business you will join a high-performing team delivering global projects that support decarbonization and drive the energy transition. Youll receive guidance from colleagues and leaders as you develop your skills and understanding of the business.
As a Software Engineer in our Platform Engineering team youll contribute to a suite of backend services and developer-facing tools that support everything from CI/CD orchestration and artifact promotion to developer experience APIs and delivery metrics. This platform integrates with key systems such as GitHub Backstage Artifactory and Kubernetes and underpins our standardized CI/CD blueprint.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable backend services and APIs (primarily in Python and/or Go) that power the development platform
Help build event-driven integrations and workflows across systems such as GitHub Artifactory Kubernetes and internal tooling
Support the development of features such as artifact promotion APIs SDLC metrics pipelines and CI/CD standardization tooling
Work with infrastructure and DevOps teams to integrate the development platform with GitHub Actions Helm ArgoCD and other cloud-native tooling
Assist with the integration of the development platform into Backstage supporting service metadata software catalog entries and lifecycle automation
Develop automation and internal tools that improve developer productivity and SDLC visibility
Contribute to technical documentation and platform engineering standards
Collaborate with platform users and product teams to gather feedback and help evolve platform capabilities
Desired Characteristics/Technical Expertise:
Solid experience in backend development using Python and/or Go
Good understanding of software design principles and secure development practices
Hands-on experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
Experience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL MySQL or Oracle
Familiarity with cloud-native technologies including:
Kubernetes
Helm
Istio service mesh
ArgoCD or similar GitOps tools
Exposure to CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD
Desirable: understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Ansible)
Desirable: interest in software lifecycle management including artifact promotion and release traceability
Desirable: familiarity with AWS services (e.g. EC2 EKS RDS Lambda)
Desirable: experience with Backstage software catalogs or internal developer portals (IDPs)
Desirable: exposure to metrics and observability tools such as Grafana Prometheus or PowerBI
Education Qualification:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science Technology Engineering and Math) with basic experience.
Business Acumen:
Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks.
Understands the technology landscape up to date on current technology trends and new technology brings new ideas to the team.
Displays understanding of the projects value proposition for the customer. Shows commitment to deliver the best value proposition for the targeted customer.
