Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

  • Pay: $16.00ph
  • Days: Monday - Friday (7:30am - 4:30pm)

The Emory Valley Center

We are a nonprofit organization located in Oak Ridge Tennessee that has been serving individuals with developmental disabilities since 1955. It supports children adults and families across 16 East Tennessee counties offering a wide range of services including supported living day programs employment assistance early intervention family support and therapies such as speech occupational and behavioral health. The center also operates the Emory Valley Early Learning Center an inclusive preschool licensed by the Department of Human Services. In 2016 Emory Valley Center opened a new facility to expand its services and continue its mission of promoting independence dignity and community inclusion for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

The Administrative Assistant/Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of Emory Valley Center (EVC) by providing exceptional front-office support managing administrative tasks and serving as the first point of contact for visitors people receiving services and staff. The Administrative Assistant/Receptionist actively participates facilitates and contributes to the organizations ongoing mission to build and strengthen our internal culture with compassion forward thinking quality value and respect for diversity equity inclusion and belonging to enhance the lives of those we serve.

  • Greet visitors people receiving services and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails efficiently.
  • Manage the reception area and ensure a welcoming environment.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments meetings and agency events.
  • Maintain organized records files and documentation.
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry correspondence making copies sorting agency mail and report preparation.
  • Support Human Resources for tasks such as reference checks MVR/Drivers License/Vehicle checks etc.
  • Booking offsite accommodation to include ordering food.
  • Co-Chair Employee Engagement Committee.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to support agency initiatives and programs.
  • Champion EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) across all Emory Valley Center programs.



Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional administrative or office management training preferred.
  • Proven experience as a receptionist administrative assistant or in a related role.
  • Must have a valid Tennessee drivers license.
  • Required training/certifications provided by the organization including CPR/First Aid.
