Food Service Worker - Junior Part-Time (0.4 FTE)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to communicate with supervisors coworkers and clientele
- ServSafe certification strongly preferred but will train the right candidate
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assist Cook Supervisor with any preparation needs
- Set up serving lines: place pans in hot steam table pushing or pulling cart with food items and lift hot empty pans out of steam table
- Follow standardized recipes and count portions
- Ensure that food is labeled and dated appropriately by standards
- Ensure that time and temperature logs are up-to-date and accurate
- Comply with and complete food safety documentation requirements
- Handle cash and make change accurately
- Serve food to students and other customers fulfilling customer needs with a positive attitude
- Restock food and other items such as condiments and paper goods maintaining adequate levels at all times
- Clean and sanitize work and serving areas using cleaning chemicals in small amounts
- All other duties deemed necessary by Cook Supervisor Manager or Foodservice Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate any shortages of food or equipment repair needs to Cook Supervisor or Manager in a timely manner
- Adhere to uniform policy and proper sanitary procedures including appropriate footwear proper hair coverage good personal hygiene and proper hand-washing
- Follow safe food handling procedures according to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) policies
- Contribute to the smooth operation of the school cafeteria via customer service a team attitude and positive interaction with ones supervisor coworkers and clientele
- Make reasonable efforts to monitor and reduce food waste
- Maintain compliance with federal and state guidelines including but not limited to continuing education as directed by foodservice director

- reach supplies and equipment;
- use tools or operate controls;
- operate a school/kitchen productivity machinery;
- read material from a computer monitor as well as handwritten or printed matter with or without visual aids;
- communicate with others so that information received and given is understood and accurately communicated;
- observe details at close range;
- in the school setting ensure the safety of students;
- multitask and meet multiple demands from several people;
- lift and reach overhead up to 20 pounds;
- lift and/or move up to 35 pounds without assistance;
- lift and/or move up to 50 pounds waist high with assistance;
- the noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
