The Admissions Counselor is a full-time position that focuses on the recruitment of prospective students the review of applications and active participation in yield activities to ensure enrollment of a talented and diverse class. The Admissions Counselor engages with high schools and community colleges in an assigned area and manages the interactions and various forms of communication with students parents high school counselors and alumni in that region. On campus the Admissions Counselor conducts information sessions confers with admitted students/families and contributes to the success of visitation/recruitment programs. Collegial interaction with several College departments and external partners is on-going. Some evening and weekend work will be required so the Admissions Counselor must be committed to working flexible hours to meet office and team needs. Additional special projects may be assigned by the Director of Admissions as needed.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Bachelors degree required. A minimum of 3 months of experience in an Admissions Office or sales environment preferred. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with students staff faculty and the public. Knowledge of and experience with computer systems and software applications preferred. Strong time management and perceptive interpersonal abilities. Operate effectively in both independent and team environments. Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written) in both individual and group settings. Knowledge of social media platforms a plus. Desire to take initiative and be creative. A valid drivers license required.
